ERNESTO SALAZAR,
86, a resident of Hernandez, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2008 following a lengthy illness. Ernesto enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and picking piñon. He liked to play practical jokes, taking his family on picnics and Mexican and Country music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He’s in a better place and we will see him again one day. We love you and miss you. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albino and Natalia Salazar; infant son, Henry Salazar; brothers, Antonio, Alberto and Fermin Salazar; sisters, Rosa Romero and Irene Gallegos. Mr. Salazar is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary E. Salazar; children, Minnie Pirraglio and husband Jack, Meno Salazar and wife Karen, Margie Martinez, Archie Salazar, Debbie Salazar, Jake Salazar and wife Valerie and Lorie Merrill all of California, Manuel Salazar and wife Janet of Las Vegas, Nevada; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Burial followed at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde with the following serving as pallbearers; James Perea, Junior Romero, Steve Martinez, Michael Salazar, Nicolas Salazar and Julian Ortega.
