Española All-Stars Win District,Advance to State

(SUNfoto by George Morse) The members of the Española Little League Majors All-Star team celebrate on the pitcher’s mound after defeating the Pojoaque All-Stars 7-5 in the District One championship game July 13 in Los Alamos. Española scored the winning runs in the top of the sixth inning on a triple by Isaac Fresquez and an error, then held Pojoaque scoreless in the bottom of the sixth to earn the victory. Española advances to the state tournament in Taos Friday.
