EUFELIA CORDOVA,
65, born in Gallina on August 2, 1943, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 30, 2009 in Gallina. She was preceded in death by her son, Alfonso Cordova Jr.; mother, Isidia Gallegos and father, Ramon Gonzales. Eufelia loved her husband greatly and was very much looking forward to her 50th wedding anniversary in November. Nothing meant more to her than being with her family and her strong relationship with God. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She will be remembered by her kindness, her smile and great compassion toward others. Mrs. Cordova is survived by her husband of 49 years, Alfonso Cordova of Gallina; father, Andronico Gallegos of Gallina; daughters, Emily Martinez of Rio Rancho, Donna Hernandez of Gallina, Julia Salazar and husband Fermin of Gallina, Anna Marie Cordova and companion Jr. of Española, Grace Cordova and companion Epi of Gallina and Clariza Cordova and companion Joe of Rio Rancho; 6 granddaughters; 5 grandsons; 4 great-granddaughters; 2 great-grandsons; considered like sisters, Rosie Velasquez of Mesa de Poleo and Shirley Cordova of Gallina and many other relatives, adopted grandchildren and friends. Public visitation was Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional held at 6:00 p.m. A second devotional service was held on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Gallina. Funeral service was Monday, May 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Gallina. Burial followed at the Cordova Family Cemetery in Gallina with the following serving as pallbearers, Timothy Cordova, Shane Hernandez, Frankie Lovato, Jonathan Martinez, Joseph Roybal and Mariano Salaz. Honorary pallbearers named were, Joe Dominick, Epi Martinez, Fermin Salazar Sr., Steve Jacquez, Jr. Roybal and Fermin Salazar Jr. and Donald Martinez.
