Fabiola T. Martinez, 77, Española, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Q. Martinez; her son, Leo Martinez; parents, Francisco and Simodecea Serrano; brothers, Frank and Amarante Serrano and sisters, Delphina, Edwina and Stella.
Mrs. Martinez was a well known seamstress in the community of Española. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Society and a Celadora of the Holy Family up until she became ill.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by her daughters, Stella, Mercedes, Priscilla, Molly, Debbie and LaVerne; adopted son, Leo A. Martinez; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Public visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (12/4) at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Dennis Martinez, Zadus Trujillo, Orlando Trujillo, Timothy Trujillo, Andrew Sandoval and Michael Martinez. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Leo Martinez, Jr., and Kenneth Martinez.
