The Española Farmers Market will open for the season June 1 and will continue from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Monday through the end of October at 1005 N. Railroad Ave (off Fairview).
Come meet old friends, visit with farmers and help launch the 33rd market season. Don Bernardo y los Ultimos, as well as other musicians, will serenade shoppers mid-morning.
They accept SNAP/EBT, Double Up Food Bucks + Bonus Bucks, WIC, and Fresh Rx. Double Up Food Bucks is a program for SNAP customers that doubles purchasing power at the market.
They are also offering Bonus Bucks currently that triples EBT money through Aug. 31 (or while funding lasts). For example, if shoppers withdraw $20 from their EBT card, they will receive an additional $40 free to spend on fresh produce. Stop by the information booth to learn more about how this program works.
This season, the Farmers Market will partner with Tewa Women United again to offer workshops at the market grounds. Stay tuned for upcoming workshop dates. Children will also be able to select a book from the free Kids’ Book Exchange. Patrons can find free bilingual recipe cards at the information booth, with ideas on how to prepare meals using fresh market produce. Stroll through the revived wildflower garden, grab a bite to eat at Jireh Deli food truck and catch up with friends.
