Felipe A. Maes,
98, a resident of Santa Cruz passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo and Onofe Maes; wife, Rufinita Maes; son, Herman and David Maes; brother, Fermin, Casamiro, Jesus, and Juan Maes; sister, Vicentita Valdez, and Elena Maes and son-in-law, Gilberto Martinez. Felipe is survived by his sister, Juanita Euteriaga of Albuquerque; brother-in-law, Epifanio Trujillo of Los Alamos, daughter, Regina Martinez of Aztec; sons, Reymundo Maes of Espanola, Pete Maes of Chama, Lee and Estefanita Maes of Albuquerque, Henry and Helen Maes of Espanola, Chester and Starla Maes of Chama, Ernest and Della Maes of Pagosa Springs; 31 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Public Visitation was on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, April 13, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at the Santo Niño Catholic Church in Cebolla.
