ABIQUIÚ LAKE: The fishing for walleye was very good using jig-and-grub combinations, jerk baits, spinner/night crawler rigs, minnows and crank baits. The fishing for smallmouth bass was fair using jerk baits, topwater lures, tubes, senkos and crank baits. The fishing for crappie up the Chama River channel was good using jigs, tubes and minnows. The fishing for catfish was fair using liver, minnows and night crawlers.
CANJILON LAKES: The trout fishing was slow-to-fair using spinners, Pistol Petes, worms and power bait.
CHAMA RIVER: The water flows below El Vado and Abiquiú dams Monday morning were 193 cubic feet per second and 1,610 cubic feet per second, respectively. The fishing below El Vado was fair using night crawlers, spinners and salmon eggs for a mixed bag of brown and rainbow trout to 18 inches.
HERON LAKE: The fishing for kokanee was very good using double whammies, Arnies and gold Panther Martins trolling at 12 to 22 feet. The bank fishing for trout and kokanee was good using salmon eggs, power bait, worms, corn and spinners. The best reports came from the Brushy Point area.
HOPEWELL LAKE: The trout fishing was fair using power bait, copper john barrs, gold bead hares ears and worms.
NAMBÉ LAKE: The fishing from boats for rainbow trout averaging 15 inches has been excellent using Pistol Petes. The fishing from the bank has been slow-to-good using assorted power bait and salmon eggs. Several anglers had good results using olive green Pistol Petes.
RIO GRANDE: The water flow at Taos Junction Bridge Monday morning was 1,760 cubic feet per second. The fishing for northern pike was slow-to-fair using large flies, swim baits and jerk baits. The fishing for smallmouth bass was fair using wooly buggers and spinners. A few trout were taken by anglers using night crawlers and spinners.
SANTA CRUZ LAKE: The trout fishing was good using power bait, salmon eggs, worms, spoons, wooly buggers and spinners.

ABIQUIÚ LAKE: Justin Graham, 15, of Los Alamos, caught a 30-inch walleye June 11 using a chartreuse chatter bait. David Prentice, of Tres Piedras, caught a 22-inch walleye using a yellow grub and a 27-inch walleye on a Rapala June 11 from the bank. Jared Blaschke, of Albuquerque, caught a 23-inch brown trout June 13 fly fishing with a bass popper. David Orso, of Rio Rancho, caught a 31.5-inch, 11-pound walleye June 14 using a spinner/night crawler rig.
HERON LAKE: Christopher Johnson of Albuquerque caught a 19.25-inch kokanee June 13 from the bank using salmon eggs.
