It really makes me sick to again see Theresa Flores as Athletic Director of Espanola Valley High School. She is in no way proven or qualified for the job. Her past experience as an athletic director proved nothing. When she was rehired over several more qualified candidates it proved once again, it doesn’t matter what you know but rather who you know on the Espanola School Board.
I wonder who on the Board hired her. Her relative Joe Guillen couldn’t have done it this time so I wonder who did it. Former superintendent David Cockerham?
Anyway since she has been athletic director she has yet again ruined any advancements the school has made while she was out. She quickly got rid of a very qualified coach for the volleyball team for someone who never even played high school sports.
Damian Salazar was by far the worst selection for a coach in the history of Espanola.
The decision to hire Flores was even worse than Richard Martinez’s decision to stall the ball against Artesia in the semi-finals this past year.
Now more then ever I question the Españaola Public School System. Please, God, send someone to clean out the Española Schools.
Vote no on all bonds. Don’t add fuel to the fire and help the School Board gain money that won’t go to the students.
