What do people not understand about social distancing?
The media is full of medical experts pleading with the public to stay six feet away from people. Restaurants and bars are closed except for delivery or pick- up. People are recommended to not visit family as we could infect vulnerable or elderly loved ones.
However, twice this week, an older couple on my street were visited by groups of family or friends, hugging and kissing each other.
COVID-19 must be taken seriously. Undisciplined young people visiting grandma and grandpa may with the best intentions show their love with that hug and kiss. Yhe problem is that it could be the kiss of death.
These are hard times. I was accused of scaring my teen-aged granddaughters when I reminded them they need to refrain from walking hand in hand with their boyfriend, that they need to remember they could be carriers to infect their parents.
This is no time to stick our heads in the sand. Please stay safe and remember social distancing will shorten this crisis.
