Several months ago the Disabled American Veteran’s transportation van used by local volunteer drivers to shuttle disabled and infirm Espanola Valley veterans to the Murphy VA Hospital in Albuquerque incurred severe, expensive mechanical issues rendering our Valley vets without transportation to their appointments.
We contacted state Sen. Richard Martinez and he was able to provide the funds necessary through legislature’s Capitol outlay funds, enabling the DAV to procure a new van for our veterans.
On behalf of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 15, we offer our gratitude to Senator Martinez. He’s our man.
