(SUNfoto by George Morse) Frank Byers looks over pictures and memories of his long coaching career in Northern New Mexico. Byers coached football, basketball, track and tennis at the Northern New Mexico Normal School in El Rito and at Española High School. He was one of the founders of the Northern Rio Grande Conference basketball tournament and in 1991 was elected to the Northern Rio Grande Hall of Fame. Byers, 97, still lives in Española and spent his summers fly-fishing in Montana.
