Española Valley’s Jazlyn Maestas continues to position herself as one to watch when the wrestling state meet hits the mat later in the month.
Maestas cruised through her matches Friday to win individual gold in the 102-lb. weight class in the Northern Nightmare at Piedra Vista, beating Kirtland Central’s Hayden Robinson on a technical fall.

Duda hit a pair of 3-pointers and Orozco and Quintana each had five points as Española jumped out to a 16-9 first quarter lead, helping them win consecutive games for the first time this season.
