(SUNfoto by Wheeler Cowperthwaite) A man prepares to throw a stick into the burning remains of his new recliner May 28. Española Police Det. Cpl. Solomon Romero spotted the truck with the chair burning in its bed at the intersection of Fairview Lane and Paseo de Oñate. The occupants of the truck, pictured, told Romero one of them had thrown a cigarette out the window while they were driving. The lit cigarette butt was enough to send the recliner up in flames.
