In response to your Nov. 14 editorial (Northern President Misstates, Rio Grande SUN, Nov. 14 page A6) we take issue with your comments about PhDs, and the implication that a person with a PhD is not a real doctor. The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is the highest degree that a university can bestow on a student.
The PhD faculty at Northern New Mexico College have extensive experience in teaching and scholarly research. The students and families in the Espanola Valley should be proud of the large number of dedicated PhDs who are providing an excellent educational experience for our students.
