Isabel C Garcia, age 90 of lower San Pedro died peacefully on Thursday November 13, 2008, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents Luis V and Ursulita Chavez, infant granddaughter Rene, sister Manuelita Valdez, brothers Gilbert, Frank, Luis, Jose, Reggie, and Arthur Chavez, husband Leopoldo Adolfo Garcia and son-in-law John A. Elliott. She is survived by her homemaker/caregiver Maria De La Torre who she considered a daughter, and her children Frances l. Elliott of Santa Fe, Leo Garcia of Rio Rancho, Gilbert Garcia and wife Joann of Rio Rancho, Sharon Borrego and husband John of San Pedro, Ursula Ciddio and husband Joe of Canoncito, Grandchildren Lawrence, Brian, Doris, Robin, Peter, Kristine, John Jr, Dana , William, Debbie, Pete, Tonya, Michelle, Julie, Matthew, Steven, Sandra, Barry, Daniel, J.P., Michael, Lucinda, Andrew, Perez, Michele, and Rosalia, 30 Great Grandchildren and two Great Great-Grandchildren, brother and sister in laws: Magdalena Chavez and Teresita and Augustine Martinez, and Jaime and Leonore Rodriguez and many other relatives and friends.
Recitation of rosary was held Monday in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. A second rosary will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at La Iglesia De La Santa Cruz De La Canada. The Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at La Iglesia De La Santa Cruz De La Canada, with interment to follow at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe. Serving as pallbearers were Sandra, Lucinda, Rosalia, Robin, and Kristine. The remaining will serve as honorary pallbearers.
