Joe Garcia

Joe A. Garcia, 77, a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada and originally of Española, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose D. and Ramona V. Garcia; brothers, Ruben and Sam Garcia; brother-in-law, Benny Sanchez. Joe was a loving and wonderful person who loved the outdoors, fishing and tennis. He is loved greatly and will be missed.  Mr. Garcia is survived by his children, Larry Garcia, Karen Ricca and husband Steve and Roselle Knass; sisters, Lucille Martinez and husband Lucas and Stella Sanchez; brother, Raymond Garcia and wife Loyola; mother of his children, Pauline Yambra; 6 dear grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Española with the following serving as pallbearers, Brandon and Patrick Villigan, Brian Martinez, Anthony Garcia, Felix Sanchez and Gilbert Vigil. Honorary pallbearers named are, Larry Garcia, Mary Naranjo and Lucas and Carlos Martinez. The Garcia family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of the Española Valley. 505-747-7477.
