Juanita Elizabeth Gallegos

 Juanita (Jane) Elizabeth Gallegos, 45, Chama, died Saturday, April 11, 2009. She died surrounded by her family after her courageous fight against breast cancer.

    Ms. Gallegos was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan who loved country music and believed and felt very strongly in her small town beliefs.

    She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Juanita and Eliseo Gallegos and her maternal grandfather Eduardo Mercure.

    Ms. Gallegos is survived by her parents Jose (Ralph) and April Gallegos, grandmother Floripe Mercure; sisters, Sarah Gallegos, Faye Anderson, Lora Lopez and brothers, Cheo Gallegos, Juan Vigil and Edward Mercure and many other relatives and friends.

    Recitation of the rosary was held April 14 at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos, with the mass of Christian burial celebrated April 15 at the same church, with interment following at the Los Ojos Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Edward and Marvin Mercure, Jesus and Santiago Martinez, Daniel Gonzalez and Mark Hathcock.
