(SUNfoto by Wheeler Cowperthwaite) A black Dodge Durango slammed into a light pole in front of Sonic on Riverside Drive and Upper San Pedro Road at 8:22 a.m. Aug. 12 after it only saw a green light, and not the cars in front of it starting to slowly move. Once Raul Arturo Perez, driving the Durango, left, saw the cars in front of him, the driver attempted to swerve, clipped the blue Toyota Rav4 driven by Khalsa Duran, right, and then went careening into the light pole, according to the Española Police Department. No motorists were transported.
