Manuela Garcia, 81, a lifelong resident of Chili, passed away Sunday morning, November 30, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio F. Garcia; daughters, Marcella and Sophie; sons, Troy, Oscar and Tito; her parents, Epifanio and Sofia Lara.  She is survived by her children, Iris and husband Andy Aboytes, Rosina and husband Gerald Martinez, Ben D. Garcia and wife Geraldine, Theresa and husband Arnold Romero, Martin Garcia and wife Denise, and Gregorio Garcia Jr. and wife Judy; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Garcia (Tito); 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Ida Archuleta of Abiquiu; brother-in-law, Ramon Garcia; sisters-in-law, Lourdes Maestas and Eufelia Manzanares and many other relatives and friends.  A rosary was recited on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. followed by a wake service at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home  Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, burial followed at the Chili Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Norberto Garcia, Robert Manzanares, Robert Chavez, Maclovio Maestas, Sammy Garcia, and Joe R. (Jay) Maestas. Honorary pallbearers are Antonio J. Garcia, Elmer Sanchez, Wilfred Valdez and Sally Carrillo.  The family of Manuela Garcia has placed their trust in DeVargas Funeral Home of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477.
