Martin Aragon
Martin Aragon, 78, Española, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008.
Mr. Aragon served with the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He received a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus # 3314. He retired as a social worker for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Magdalena Aragon; brothers, Alfonso, John, Vidal, and Leonard Aragon; sisters, Esther Arguello, Anita Martinez, and Josephine Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Aragon, Española; daughters, Carolyn Quesada, Santa Fe; Linda Garcia and Carmela Aragon, both of Española; sons, Thomas Aragon and Anthony Aragon, both of Española; brother, Adelaido Aragon; sisters, Irene Schwitzer, Mildred Aragon, Regina Nance; eight grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A rosary was recited Nov. 5 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held today (11/6) at 10:30 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Kenny, Jimmy Jo and Randy Schwitzer, Mike Nance and Frank and Larry Giorno.
