Melina Martinez Trujillo,
67, a resident of Chamita passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Louisa and brothers, Donald and Dennis; and sister-in-law, Pauline Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Fidel Trujillo of Chamita; son, Chris of Chamita; brothers, Manuel Martinez of Espanola, Olivar Martinez of La Villita; sisters, Frances Salazar of Espanola, Joyce and husband Marty Moya of Santa Fe, Barbara and husband Ed Valdez of Nambe; brothers-in-law, Willie Trujillo (Maggie) of Spokane, WA, Fidencio Trujillo (Rosie) of Roy, UT, Eloy Trujillo (Frances) of Chamita, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and many other relatives and friends and neighbors. Cremation is being planned. A rosary was recited on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., both services took place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial took place at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
