The Mesa Vista High School Trojans participated in the Rio Rancho Jamboree on Saturday. They brought home the varsity title and Ezequiel Nevarez won the race. Below are the results from the race:
First place: Ezequiel Nevarez, 18:14
Seventh place: Andres Valdez, 18:54
19th place: Jonathan “Tello” Martinez, 19:38
22nd place: Anthony Crim, 19:57
37th place: Dominic Lopez, 20:22
40th place: Kenny Gallegos, 20:31
44th place: Santiago Martinez, 20:40
The Trojans were runners-up in the Rio Rancho Jamboree last year and had two runners in the top 20. This year, they won the race and had three runners in the top 20.
“(They had) slower times yesterday but they fought hard for the win on a tough Rio Rancho course!” Coach Ben Sandoval said.
