A semi-truck pulling a propane tank was struck from behind about 10 a.m., Aug. 13 by a black full-sized SUV (out of frame). The accident occurred in front of the entrance to Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative in Hernandez. The driver of the SUV was taken by ambulance to Española Hospital. The truck driver's condition was not released. A records request for the incident report has been pending with State Police since Aug. 13. The highway was completely closed until late evening.
