I was at the Espanola/Artesia state tournament game. What was the coach thinking? How many times did he have to go into overtime to change his strategy?
Those poor boys. They tried so hard and it all could have been done in regulation play. Isn’t the norm to get quite ahead before you start stalling and then drawing fouls?
The crowd was pretty peeved at Coach Richard Martinez’ coaching tactics. The boys could have won this game, the coach just held it up for them consequently causing a horrific loss.
Another thing, how many times is this coach going to take his team to state but never make it?
One of his boys got hurt and he never bothered to check on him. I think it’s quite pathetic to work with the youth and not care if they get hurt. I wouldn’t want my child to be on his team. He only wants them to make him shine and look good.
Wake up Española. It’s time for change. We need a coach that not only can take his team to state but also win it.
