I would like to ask Angela “Spence” Pacheco to please prosecute to the fullest extent possible all criminals, that she use full diligence and ask the attorneys under her authority to do the same.
As a survivor of a homicide, I and my family were fully victimized by the murderers who killed our loved one and by the judicial system because Pacheco’s predecessor failed us. I can remember most of the cases were plea deals and not convictions.
Please see that the victims don’t continue to be victimized. See that victims are properly represented and notified of all the steps in their case. My family and I were kept out of the loop, by the police and by the District Attorney’s office. But we showed up at all hearings because I am familiar with the system, having worked at both the police and district attorney’s office. What a disappointment in the people who I at one time called coworkers.
We wish Angela Pacheco luck and that she please think about the Victim’s Bill of Rights and do not continue the trend of victimizing the victim. The perpetrator should be prepared to face the music if he or she does the crime. It should be the perpetrator being treated as such and not the victim or the victim’s family.
