I’m writing as a response to your recent article regarding Rio Arriba County Commissioner James Martinez’ pro-life (proclamation).
In this day and age, it seems that the media, which now unfortunately seems to include the Rio Grande SUN, has sided with the liberals instead of just reporting facts.
This isn’t the first time that a pro-life Democrat has been persecuted for standing up for the unborn. It happened at the last Democratic primary when another pro-life democrat (an incumbent, no less) the Democratic party made sure that pro-life State Rep. Carl Trujillo lost to his opponent, who was staunchly supported by abortion provider Planned Parenthood.
Undoubtedly, Carl lost his seat because of his pro-life values, which the Democrat party has no room for.
Well, here’s a news flash: there are a lot of pro-life Democrats out there, myself included, that are willing to stand up for our values. I applaud Commissioner James Martinez for representing his pro-life constituents and not being afraid to stand up for those most innocent ones, the unborn, even when it may cost him politically.
