Not A Lidyard Fan

District Court Judge Jason Lidyard is on the Nov. 3 ballot for retention or non-retention.

He is far from “hard on crime” as the Rio Grande SUN opined in its July 24 issue.

I am a victim in a felony case before him. In my case an arraignment was held May 2, 2017. Since then, the defendant has missed eight docket calls, each time with no consequence.

The first docket call was scheduled for Oct. 24, 2017. The docket call, status conference and jury selection hearings were simply moved to a later date.

The most recent missed docket call was scheduled for July 6, 2020 and is rescheduled for Dec. 21, 2020.

Judge Jason Lidyard is in fact judicially ineffective.
