Regarding the article “Cop Brags about Beating Elderly Man” in the Jan. 1, 2009 edition, the duty of an officer of the law should be to serve and protect rather than to assault and threaten the citizenry. Officer Montoya’s actions constitute an act of terrorism on the local populace and shows that she is not fit to serve as a law enforcement officer.
