Parents’ punishment results in knife-throwing teen

Martinez, 23, was driving his green sedan north on Riverside Drive when Daysi Lopez, 66, driving a Toyota 4Runner, turned directly in front of him. The impact flipped her vehicle, which smashed into a truck stopped on El Llano Road. Once (SUNfoto by Wheeler Cowperthwaite) she turned in front of him, he slammed on the brakes, but he knew there would be impact. “I hit, then, boom,” he said. He was driving home to get his daughter’s forgotten homework that was due. Martinez walked off an injury to his leg.
