Pets of the Week 4/27/26

Marcy is sunshine in a slightly squishy Lab suit! At 9 years young, this golden-hearted girl is pure joy on four paws, with a tail wag that starts at her nose and ends somewhere in tomorrow. Marcy lives for her people — shadowing you like a happy little cloud, collecting pats and insisting every moment deserves appreciation. When the sun’s out, she’s first in the kiddie pool, channeling full mermaid energy. She knows her basics (especially when snacks are involved), enjoys leash strolls with a touch of joyful enthusiasm and is fully house and crate trained thanks to her inmate foster.

She’s currently thriving in our Fosters in the Pen program at the Penitentiary of New Mexico, where she’s paired with an incarcerated caregiver whose smile matches her own — both learning, growing and shining a little brighter together. Apply to meet Marcy and see what it feels like when a dog chooses you right back.

Simba was once a shy little orange whisper of a cat, hanging back and quietly studying the world like it was a very complicated book. Now he’s the one arriving first to say hello, like he’s been appointed the official welcome committee with whiskers.

His impossibly kissable pinkie-pie nose makes you question your self control and should come with a warning label and his tender heart, oh that sweet orange tabby heart … it’s blooming into something bold, sweet and wonderfully social.
