(SUNfoto by George Morse) Escalante’s William Hurd takes a handoff from teammate Rosendo Avalos in the 800-meter relay at the Class A-AA state track and field meet May 11 at the Great Friends of UNM track facilities in Albuquerque. The Lobos finished third in the relay with a time of 1:35.15. Escalante scored 33 points and finished fifth in the team standings at state. The Lobos’ Adam Gurulé won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at state.
