(SUNfoto by R. Braiden Trapp) The Española Fire Department brought a ladder truck to help state Game and Fish Department officers get a bear out of a tree Aug. 4 on Lower San Pedro Road. Acting Fire Department Lt. Theresa Martinez said the bear was tranquilized and landed on an inflatable cushion. Game officials tagged the bear and put it inside a trailer to release into the wild, she said. Game and Fish Department spokesman Marty Frentzel said bears are feeding this time of the year and are more likely to enter residential neighborhoods.
