Tree Thief
Monday, May 4
• 9:47 a.m. — A San Pedro Sonic employee said two big men in a black Ford truck ate and ran and almost drove over the carhop. They couldn’t be found.
• 7:31 p.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 95 caller said his neighbor was driving in the back of his property and removing his trees without his permission. The caller said his neighbor became irate after the caller took pictures of him and his workers. The neighbor and workers left before police arrived.

Tuesday, May 5
• 3:52 p.m. — A caller said he was driving on State Road 68 when another motorist flashed an obscene picture at him. He said it was a hand-drawn picture of a penis, and he didn’t know if the person was upset because he was driving slow. No report was wanted.
• 5:34 p.m. — A North McCurdy Road caller said his neighbor was flooding his yard. He was referred to the courts.
• 6:21 p.m. — Two callers said there was a large party on Calle Vigil involving two men frequently in trouble with law enforcement. Police found the two men having dinner with a woman and “actually behaving themselves.”
• 9:28 p.m. — A Private Drive 1610 caller said her roommate took her keys. She was referred to the courts.

Wednesday, May 6
• 8:02 a.m. — A Jackrabbit Road caller said her son stole her Plymouth Voyager while she was sleeping. Police took a report.
• 11:53 a.m. — A Comfort Inn manager said a man reached over the counter and tried to grab her keys. He couldn’t be found.
• 2:12 p.m. — A Paseo de Oñate caller said his girlfriend told him a man kept circling the neighborhood and ringing the doorbell, and when she asked how she could help the man he didn’t say what he wanted or who he was. Police were advised to be on the lookout.
• 7:47 p.m. — An East Buena Vista Drive caller said a boy spray-painted her car green. The juvenile suspect was released to his parents.

Thursday, May 7
• 12:39 p.m. — A State Road 76 caller said his neighbor, a handicapped young boy, was trying to direct traffic around an arroyo that was running with water, and the caller was concerned he would get hit by a car. Police did a welfare check.
• 7:12 p.m. — A Private Drive 1330 caller said a couple of children were accusing her son of stealing an XBox 360. Police took a report.
• 9:01 p.m. — A Camino de Paz caller said his wife is on parole and is an alcoholic. He said he had $10,000 sitting on the counter, and it was now missing. He thought she might have taken it and done something with it. He said his wife was so intoxicated she couldn’t prove she didn’t take it. Police took a report for larceny.
• 9:47 p.m. — An Ohkay Casino employee said a woman tried to put a counterfeit $10 bill in a slot machine. Police determined she may have found the bill somewhere and wasn’t trying to commit a crime.

Friday, May 8
• 8:34 a.m. — A Winesap Drive caller said she sent her aunt to get her medications, and the aunt hadn’t returned. She said another one of her aunts told her the aunt in question had gone to Colorado. Police took a report for larceny.
• 2:02 p.m. — A Lower San Pedro Road caller said his next door neighbor almost attacked him and pushed his grandmother. He called 911 a second time, saying he didn’t want to talk to Española Police officer Danny Pacheco. He said Pacheco wasn’t treating him well just because the caller had a couple of drinks. Police took a report for assault.
• 9:54 p.m. — A Fairview Sonic employee said a girl was trying to jump another employee and told her she would wait for her outside work. The suspect admitted everything and was told to stay away from the employee.

Saturday, May 9
• 9:24 a.m. — A caller said a man walking on North Railroad Avenue was yelling at cars and might be on something. He couldn’t be found.
• 1:22 p.m. — A South McCurdy Road caller said her landlord has dementia and cut her cable cord even though she had paid the rent. Police determined it was a civil dispute over the rent.
• 5:43 p.m. — A caller said a man at the corner of Fairview Lane and McCurdy Road appeared to be on something, as he was picking up a rock and stepping on it and looking at it and stepping on it again. Police determined the man was sober and playing with an anthill.
• 9:40 p.m. — A County Road 142 caller said her husband pushed her around and made her drop a computer. She said he was upset because she caught him cheating on her. The caller ended up getting arrested for domestic violence.

Sunday, May 10
• 9:23 a.m. — A County Road 39 caller said her husband was verbally abusive to her and her grandchild. The man went to a neighbor’s house for the night.
• 10:44 a.m. — A caller said his drunk brother was on his property and wouldn’t leave. He said he heard him ask for his shotgun. The brother was detoxed.
