(SUNfoto by Lou Mattei) An Española man being treated by paramedics Sept. 20 smiles after being tracked by Española Police to Española Elementary. One paramedic asked the man what day it was. He replied, “Wednesday or Thursday,” (it was Tuesday) and he refused further medical attention. Police on the scene refused to identify the man, and he was placed in the back of a police cruiser to be taken home when he started telling a reporter about the time police “resisted” him. The officers admonished the man for fleeing from Española Hospital and scaring the school children, and he apologized and thanked the officers for their help.
