Mariana Arambula, McCurdy Girls Basketball
McCurdy’s junior center is back on the court and leading the Bobcats through a 3-1 start. Arambula scored 12 points in a win over Chesterton in McCurdy’s first game. She also made the all-tournament team for the Santa Fe Indian School C-team tournament, where the Bobcats’ varsity team made the final.
Raymond Archuleta, Española Valley Bowling
The Sundevils took first place at their Big Rock Bowling tournament, beating out the biggest 5A schools to get the win. Archuleta led the way with a 387 score in the two-game series, and anchoring team games where Española came back to win.
Jerek Duda, Española Valley Boys Basketball
Duda’s hot shooting night almost single-handedly propelled the Sundevils to a win over Mesa Vista at the Sundevil Shootout. He scored 29 points, hitting five 3-pointers in the game.
Mossi Gutierrez, Coronado Boys Basketball
Coronado won first place at their home Leopard Invitational, defeating Tierra Encantada and Tse’ Yi’ Gai. Their senior leader helped in a big way to bring the trophy for Coronado.
