Joziah Salazar, Pojoaque Boys Basketball
Pojoaque’s sophomore guard took over the game by himself in overtime. Facing Bernalillo, Salazar scored nine points in the overtime period, and assisted on several more, finishing the game with 18 points. He also added 13 points against Santa Fe Indian and 10 against Portales.
Felimino Vicente, Dulce Boys Basketball
A freshman came out of nowhere for Dulce. New to varsity, Vicente went off against Portales, scoring 19 points and making five 3-pointers. Each one of his shots made the crowd louder and louder.
Bailey Vigil, Dulce Girls Basketball
Vigil was the girls tournament MVP, and well deserved. Her eight consecutive made free throws in the fourth quarter of the championship helped Dulce put the game away as part of 15 total points. She also scored 11 points in the semifinal against Pojoaque.
