Voting ends at 2 p.m. on Tuesday

Rebecca Chacon, Coronado Girls Basketball

With the team’s leading scorer out due to injury, Chacon stepped up and led the Lady Leopards to their first district win in three seasons. Chacon scored 13 points, including a huge eight-point burst in the closing minutes of the first half, to establish a big lead and ultimately get a win over New Mexico School for the Deaf.

Kyle Coffeen, Española Valley Wrestling

The senior continued winning, taking the crown at 152 pounds at the Pojoaque Valley Invite to reach 21-4 on the year. In Pojoaque, Coffeen won five matches all with a first-period pin, showing domination over his weight class against wrestlers all across the state.

Emma Maestas, Escalante Girls Basketball

The senior guard had her second-straight huge game, logging 20 points in a major momentum-building win over Peñasco. She knocked down three 3-pointers while also getting to the rim to score, or helping her teammates when needed. Her emergence has helped the Lady Lobos get back on track.

Alaiyah Vigil, Pojoaque Wrestling

The sophomore wrestler scored the first big win of her career, winning the 152/165-pound combined class at the Pojoaque Invite on her home gymnasium. In the championship round, she scored a huge pin before the end of the first period to win first place.
