Mariana Arambula, McCurdy Volleyball
McCurdy’s senior dominated the service stripe, leading the Bobcats to a sweep in their first match of the season. Arambula recorded 13 aces and six kills in a three-set win over Monte Del Sol in her first match back after missing much of 2022.
Giselle Muñoz, Pojoaque Volleyball
Pojoaque’s senior hitter stepped up in her first match in a new starting role and was the star as Pojoaque swept Robertson to start the season. Muñoz finished the match with three blocks and a team-high 12 kills.
Hailey Renteria, Española Valley Cross Country
Renteria started her junior year strong on her home course. At the Del Valdez Invitational, she raced ahead of the field and took first place.
Andres Valenzuela, Española Valley Football
Española found a kicker this year, and he delievered in a win agaisnt Escalante, going perfect with two field goals and an extra point. His 43-yard kick late in the fourth quarter, with room to spare, was the longest for the Sundevils since at least 2007.
