Rock-Wielding Woman Takes Stroll down Riverside

(SUNfoto by Wheeler Cowperthwaite) Firefighter Jack Romero shines a light into the eyes of a man who appeared to have overdosed or blacked out from drinking alcohol, Sept. 25, at Valdez Park. Lt. Johnny Martinez helps Romero attempt to revive the man before they helped medics load him onto a gurney. He was reported as unconscious and possibly overdosing by a passerby who used the man’s cell phone to call 911, before fleeing. The man said he was afraid police officers would arrest him if he stuck around.
