Santa Rosa Track Meet
The Escalante Lady Lobos track team won first place at the Santa Rosa Invite on April 26.
Hannah Lopez won first place int the 400 meters, with a time of 1:04.09, and in the 200 meters at 28.62, while taking third place in the high jump.
Ashley Gilmore won the 100-meter hurdles, took second in the 300-meter hurdles, and finished second in the high jump.
Felice Baca finished second in the 200 meters, behind Lopez, and was fourth in the 100 meters. And Rebecca Lopez finished third in the 800 at 2:51.33, while Alyssa Aguilar was fourth in the 3200.
Escalante’s relay team won the 4×400 meters by seven seconds with a team of Baca, Hannah Lopez, Jayden Macias and Gilmore. And the 4×100 team took third with Gilmore, Baca, Peyton Gallegos and Hannah Lopez.
Escalante’s boys, meanwhile, took third with a strong meet.
Their 4×200-meter relay team took first place with Julio Lujan, Richard Trujillo, Braylon Emery and Luka Torrez. Jayden Salazar along with Lujan, Emery and Torrez also won the 4×400 meters. Salazar, Trujillo, Emery and Torrez placed third in the 4×100.
Emery, Lujan and Torrez finished second, third and fourth respectively in the 400 meters.
Emery placed third in the javelin, and Ramon Martinez placed fourth in the discus. Torrez placed second in the high jump, and Trujillo was third.
McCurdy has their boys team place eighth and the girls team finished 10th.
Jeremaya Roybal led the team with a first-place finish in the 100 meters at 11.86, winning by 0.01 seconds, and he placed third in the 200.
Justin Knight placed third in the 800 meters and in the 1600 meters. And their relay team finished fourth in the 4×400.
Marisol Serna led the girls with a first-place finish in the 3200 meters, while Avery Knight won the 1600 meters. Aubrey Cordova was fifth in the 200 meters. And a McCurdy sprint medley relay team placed third.
