Roundup: Pojoaque Baseball’s No-No

Published:

The Pojoaque Valley baseball team (1-16) finally recorded their first win of the 2024 season when they defeated Los Alamos (10-5) at home on April 6 in the second game of a doubleheader by a score of 7-5.

And in that game, Pojoaque’s pitchers threw a combined no-hitter.  Ezekiel Atencio threw the first 5.1 innings, and then fellow sophomore Noah Torres took over and finished the final 1.2 innings hitless.

The Elks did give up five runs on four errors, 11 walks and one hit by pitch. But the offense did enough to get the win, with three runs in the first inning and two each in the third and fourth.

Dominic Apodaca led the offense with two doubles and three RBIs.
