Ruby “ India” Herrera, 50, Espanola and formerly of Truchas, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Pantaleon Herrera; sister, Linda Herrera; brother, James Herrera; daughters, Gina and Reanna DeAguero; and Juan DeAguero.
Ms. Herrera is survived by her daughter Juanita DeAguero; mother, Sabinita Herrera, brothers, Johnny Herrera and Tony Herrera; sisters, Edna Herrera, and Shirley Reynosa; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (2/26) at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Truchas. Interment will follow at the Family cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers: Mario Gonzales, Jose Gonzales, Jason Martinez, Jimmy Herrera, Mark Vigil and Joe Romero. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: all of her nieces and nephews.
