We are enclosing the transcript of Bill Moyers’ May 22 program regarding the health care fiasco in our country, and our increasing inability to pay for quality health care even with health insurance.
Moreover, we believe the many millions of people in our country without health insurance, and whose emergency room visits we ultimately pay for when we receive health care, is a disgrace. It is morally reprehensible in the extreme and we believe a single-payer health care system for the uninsured and for ourselves is the only possible solution. As one of our legislators says, we simply need to extend the efficient Medicare program for everyone, no exceptions. We know doctors and nurses who agree wholeheartedly.
It’s time to retire the completely inefficient health care insurance scam that has been impoverishing or refusing to serve so many for so long. Stand up and be counted, Rio Grande SUN. Please endorse single-payer health care as our legislators continue the discussion about what to do about the broken health care system.
