(SUNfoto by Lindsey Bright) James Biggs moves and shapes the sand to form the mountains and valleys. Biggs is working on a state-of-the-art Sim Table which is used in emergency training situations. Biggs, though, is using it for education in fuels management, wildland firefighting, fire ecology and hydrology. Biggs is the first professor in the nation to use the Sim Table for teaching college courses. He teaches at Northern New Mexico College’s El Rito campus.
