Sorry for Remarks

After writing a hasty letter to the editor which appeared in last week’s Rio Grande SUN, “Where Is the History Book?” I realized I was acting like a sinverguenza. I most humbly apologize to the curators and staff of the Bond House, Misión y Convento , and the Oñate Center por mi gran falta de respeto. I had no cal to write what I did. I would hope to learn from each of you.

I was born here but my father is mason from Parral Chihuahua and my Mother is from Chamita. In my 19 years of life I have yet to grasp any sense of history about Española. When I went to school they never took us on field trips to these local museums. We went to the Ghost Ranch, Albuquerque museum, and maybe Puye Cliffs.

I feel so angered our history is not in the classrooms, not in the books, I love to read but I have not found it there. I prefer difficult stories that tear at the heart.
