Martinez Earns
All-State Honor
After posting a 6-1 record on the mound for McCurdy in his final season, Cruz Martinez was recognized as a Class 2A second-team All-State pitcher. Martinez struck out 48 batters in 24 1/3 innings while allowing 24 hits and compiling a 4.89 earned-run average.
He led the Bobcats to the first round of the state tournament, where they lost to Raton 10-9.
Cheerleader Camp
Ready to Rock
Cheerleaders ages 4-14 looking to better their moves will have that chance at the upcoming Sundevils youth camp from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 21-22, with a parent’s performance at 6 p.m. July 23. All sessions with be held at Española Valley School.
Competition-style routines will be taught for beginners, intermediates and advanced cheerleaders, including cheer, dance, stunts/pyramid, tumbling and jumps.
