Baseball: Pojoaque Valley vs. Española Valley

Both teams are looking to gain their footing and finish their season strong, as the Elks are just 1-17 this season, and the Sundevils slightly better at 4-14. Pojoaque has been led by Corey Gonzales, battling .275 with six RBIs this season as they look to get more of their offense going to support a decent pitching staff, including Noah Torres and Ernie Cardenas. The Sundevils do not have statistics posted from recent games, though longtime varsity players Tyller Lomayma and Daniel Garcia are looking to make a big impact for the team.

Softball: Pojoaque Valley vs. Española Valley

Similar to baseball, both teams are out of the running for a state tournament bid, with records well below .500, but are looking to add meaning to their season in the rivalry games. Pojoaque won a district game over Moriarty, and the Sundevils still seek their first district win. Allayah Rios has a .385 average for Pojoaque with 11 RBIs and two home runs, but consistent pitching has been hard to find. Leah Vigil is up to a .659 average for Española, and Aliah Villalobos is at .574 in addition to pitching a large majority of Española’s innings.
