Boys Basketball: ATC vs. Escalante

The Lobos (2-5) got hit by a three-game losing streak, and their record is not where they want to be as they rebuild this year. A big chance to get back on track comes Wednesday against a Phoenix team (6-3) that has emerged as one of the best in the state, who competed close with top big-school teams at the Belen tournament last week. ATC is led by junior wing Julian Bernardino. Even a close game here would be a step in the right direction headed into a Friday game with Coronado (1-3).

Girls Basketball: Escalante vs. Los Alamos

The Lady Lobos (6-2) look to keep pace with Dulce and Mesa Vista, who have emerged as top contenders this year. Their first six games all came against bigger schools, and they have another one coming on Thursday. The Hilltoppers (1-4) have had a slow start to the season, with fewer games after a last-place finish at the Capital City Tournament. Escalante has been led by Brycelyn Martinez, on fire to start the season, averaging over 17 points, seven rebounds and nearly five steals per game.
