I’ve known Roger Montoya and his family since the mid-1980s and been witness to decades of service to the Española Valley community.
Dottie, Roger’s mom, delivered innovative health care programs for Española Valley High School students. Her efforts made a difference.
Through the Moving Arts program, created by Roger and Salvador, a whole generation of our youth has been enriched by a holistic education in the arts, fitness and sports, and an exemplary health-through-nutrition meal program free to students and community. It’s beautiful to see the pride of parents and grandparents who show up each week to see their ‘jitos and ‘jitas develop and thrive. I don’t think you can put a price tag on this gift to our children.
Roger, I want you to know your efforts have made a difference and that I stand with you, knowing that you’ll apply this same ethic to improving the lives of many more New Mexicans.
