STELLA VARGAS,
92, a resident of Santa Fe, formerly of Ojo Caliente, NM passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Silviano Vargas. Stella was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and was devoted to her family and community. She was a very giving and generous person and loved to sing and enjoyed her music. She loved babies and small children and was a very positive influence on them. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Vargas is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Encinias and husband Rudy of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Valerie McCamish and husband Darryl of Muleshoe, Texas; grandson, Dean Gallegos and wife Sonia of Santa Fe; great-grandchildren, Jose, Robert, Carter and Elisia of Santa Fe; special family members, Gloria Cortez and husband Joe and Olivia Blanco both of Española and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Santa Fe with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Amos, Daniel and Marcos Archuleta, Dean and Jose Gallegos and Jerry Valdez.
